COSMETOLOGY

Being a qualified  dermatologist  I  do  many cosmetology procedures   in the  clinic. 

1)  Mole removal:  most  of  the  ugly  looking  moles  can be  removed  by cautery. The  procedure is  simple  and  is  done  under local anesthesia. The  whole  procedure  may take  around  20 to 30  minutes.  Patient  can go home immediately  after the  procedure.  There  is  not  much of  post procedure  care  and  patient  can resume  work the  same  day.  In most  of the cases  there is  no need  to dress the  procedure site.

  2) Cauterization can   be  used  to  remove  moles  ,  skin tags,  warts,  and  corns . Procedure and  post procedure instructions  are almost the  same  as for  moles.

.  3)Chemical  peels: chemical  peels  are done  in  cases  of  acne, pigmentation  and  scars. The  procedure  involves  cleaning the  face   with  a cleanser  and  the  application   of  a  suitable  peel solution  on  the site. It  is  kept  for  around  7-12 minutes  and then  neutralized  moisturizers and  sun screens  are  applied  at the  end  of the  procedure.  Patient can    go home  immediately.

 

Patient has  to follow a few simple  instructions given after the  procedure. Peels  are  done  at  an  interval of 12 to 15 days. Usually  3-4  peels are required  to see some  results, however  one  should note that  the results may vary with each subject.

4)Dermabrasion: dermabrasion  is  a  procedure mainly  done to treat  scars, hyperpigmentation, skin rejenuvation, fine  wrinkles / lines  on the  face  , etc.  The  doctor  may  use  a  diamond  tip abrader   or  aluminium crystals  for abrasion.  The  procedure is  safe and  takes  20 to  30  minutes. Patient can go home  immediately after the  procedures.

5) Dermaroller:  this  is  a simple  and  effective treatment   for  acne  scars.  we   anaesthetise  the  skin to be treated  with a topical  anasthetic cream. once the skin is  numb  ( takes around 45 mins)   we  roll  the  dermaroller (which is  actually a  small roller  with hundreds  of small pins)This   creates  small   punctures  which  when heals   leaves  a better looking scar and  skin.  The  procedure  requires an hour or so, with the major part of the time  taken  by the  topical anasthesia. patients can go  home immediately  and can resume work  next day.

6) we have also   started  fillers  and   botox treatment  for  a  younger   looking skin.
